RATIONALE
In this time of intense global pressure, nurses worldwide perform exceptional work to save and improve the lives of individuals, families and communities, and maintain the health systems together. They often accomplish this under immense stress, but most of the time their work is not fully recognized and supported. To maximize the life-saving impact of nurses, they must be empowered with full scope of nursing practice, safe and fair working conditions, and the authority to influence healthcare policy at the institutional and national levels.
True empowerment also means eliminating the barriers that prevent nurses from using their full knowledge and skills, and from creating pathways for their voices to shape the future of healthcare. These show the potential nurses hold to save lives by making health care safe, effective, and accessible to all.
This eight-hour conference serves as a platform for nurses in all levels across different settings to affirm how nursing autonomy leads to patient safety and lower mortality rates; how digital empowerment contribute to efficiency and accuracy, how workforce resilience result to improved retention; and how involvement in policy development and advocacy lead to sustainable healthcare systems.
GOAL
At the end of the 8-hour conference, the participants should be able to...
- Determine strategic pathways for leadership, education, and advocacy that empower nurses to directly enhance health outcomes and strengthen their capacity to deliver life-saving approaches and drive systemic change to the healthcare systems.
Specifically, they should be able to...
- Describe the capacity of nurses to exercise independent clinical judgment and lead patient care initiatives that result to improved patient safety and reduced clinical mortality;
- Determine the pivotal role of nurses and nursing leaders in driving digital transformation and technological innovation to optimize efficiency and accuracy within healthcare systems;
- Identify systemic changes in the healthcare systems necessary to foster a supportive work environment that enhances nurse resilience and stabilizes nursing workforce retention; and
